Man as a vicegerent of Allah, is deeply inclined with both types of nature; live and dead. If we have a glimpse over the history of the Arabs at the time of ignorance, we can conclude that they were the slaves of the nature; specially those who were living nomadic life. They had a lot of time; they used to pass their time in different activities. Most of them were fond of poetry. They used to memorize and sing the poetic verses. Among them; was Imra ul Qais; who is considered as leader of the poets of the time of ignorance and pioneer of the description of nature. He was very expert in the description of dead nature. In this article; I have tried to highlight this aspect of his poetry. A brief description of his biography is given first, then nature and its impact on the people of the time of ignorance are given. At last; kernel of the article; important points of dead nature on which the poet focused are highlighted; like ruins of his beloved, description of night, lightning and thunder, rain, desert, mountain, spring, phantom, date palm and flower.
